Our core supports are a direct bolt-in replacement, fixtured from stock core supports. As you probably know, stock tri-fives placed the radiator in front of the stock core support in 6 cylinder cars and behind on V-8 cars. Our unit places the rear of the radiator approximately at the center of the stock core support. Not quite as far ahead as the 6 cylinder but way ahead of the V-8 location. Due to the 15" thru by 33" wide dimensions of the radiator, we intended it to be cooled by dual electric fans. We sell a mounting bracket set for 14" Spal fans in either 16g cold rolled steel or 6061 aluminum unfinished. You will need to drill and tap for eight either 10-32 or 10-24 bolts.
CORE SUPPORT: All sheet metal pieces are 16g cold rolled. The 1"tubing is .083 wall while the 3/4 " uprights are .065. All welding by heli-arc. The radiator has no brackets or tabs to break off. It sits on rubber pads, top and bottom, and the top valance squeezes down on it to hold it in place just like a Chevy pickup.
The main frame and top valance are sand blasted and powdercoated because they just get nasty looking during the manufacturing process. We do the satin black but if you want to paint, the powdercoat is a good sealer/filler/primer.
RADIATOR: By Air Mobile or C&R - aluminum crossflow 14 fin per inch-modine core two 1" tube design pressure tested to 25 psi.
We build a two-pass radiator for LS-type motors.
(NOTE: always use anti-seize
compound on overflow nipple).
